Accused Richwood city employees to appear in court today

Summersville, WV – The four previous Richwood city authorities accused of misappropriation and extortion will go to their preliminary hearing’s today, April 11, 2019, which will be held at the Nicholas County Magistrate Court, located in Summersville, West Virginia.

As indicated by State Auditor John B. McCuskey’s 18-month long investigation report, Bob Henry Baber, Richwood’s previous mayor, made many improper purchases with his state-issued purchasing card and he additionally issued himself a City of Richwood check for flood work amid the 2016 flood alleviation the week prior and the week after he became Richwood’s mayor.

Additionally, as indicated by court archives, former Chief of Richwood Police, Lloyd Cogar, is accused of misappropriation and fraudulent use of a state-issued purchasing card.

Alongside them, Richwood Mayor Christina Drennen, who, at the time, was Richwood’s recorder, is also accused of embezzlement.

In conclusion, as indicated by McCuskey’s report, former Richwood City Clerk, Abigail McClung, is accused of embezzlement and computer fraud.
