Richwood: High-Speed Chase Led by Man on Motor Bike

Richwood, WV – Richwood Police Officer, Cody Lowe, trailed a suspect, Christopher Lee Louden, on a high-speed chase through the town of Richwood, WV, on Monday, May 27, 2019.

According to witnesses, Louden was on a motor bike, reaching speeds of 90 miles-per-hour up to 100 miles-per-hour. He went through Main Street, Edgewood Avenue, Cherry Street, and Spruce Street — each of these roads usually have either children or an entire family outside having fun.

According to Holley Blankenship, a worker at The Chill Out Grill, and also an eyewitness, “He [Chistopher Lee Louden] has gone flying down the hill [EdgewoodAvenue] three times already. The guy was on a motor bike, and he had to have been going at least 90 miles-per-hour,” she later added, “He about hit the elderly guy up there,” she said as she pointed to an elderly guy pulling weeds at the top of Edgewood Avenue.

After Louden drove down Edgewood Avenue for the third time, according to Blankenship, he then went on to Cherry Street. Finally, the brave officer who kept up with the man’s reckless driving, Officer Cody Lowe, caught him.

The suspect, Christopher Lee Louden, will be charged with one count of fleeing with reckless indifference, three counts of fleeing in a no passing zone and failure to stop at a stop sign, and one count of not having a motorcycle endorsement. Officer Lowe is the investigating officer.
